# Asana integration

# How to create Asana tasks from form submissions

[Connect Asana to your form](https://formester.com/integrations/asana/) so every submission automatically creates a task in an Asana project.

**Available on:** All plans. **You'll need:** Access to your form's Automate settings, and an Asana account with access to the workspace and project you want to use.

## Before you begin

* Have an Asana project ready. Every task the integration creates goes into the project you choose during setup.
* Decide which form question should become the task title, and which questions should appear in the task description.

## Configure Asana

1. Open your form, go to **Automate**, then select **Integrations**.
2. Find the **Asana** card and select **Add integration**.
3. Under **Asana Account**, select an already-connected account, or select **Add a new account** to sign in to Asana and authorize Formester.
4. Select the **Workspace** that contains the project you want to use.
5. Select the **Project** that should receive tasks created from this form.
6. Select the **Task Title** — the form question whose answer becomes each task's title. If the answer is empty, the task is titled "Form Submission".
7. Under **Task Description**, select one or more form questions to include in the task description. Each selected answer is written on its own line.

8. **Include a link back to the submission** is on by default and adds a link to the Formester submission at the end of the task description. Turn it off if you don't want that link.
9. Optionally, under **Custom Field Mapping**, select **Add Custom Field** to map one of the project's Asana custom fields to a form question.
10. Select **Save Integration**.

## What happens next

Once saved, the Asana card shows the integration as active.

From then on, new form submissions create tasks in the selected Asana project, using the title, description, and any custom field mapping you configured. From the card's options menu (⋮) you can trigger **Sync now**, reopen **Manage** to change the setup, or **Delete** the integration.

## Troubleshooting

* **Missing custom fields, or permission errors** — Formester displays a note under **Asana Account**: reconnect and sign back in as the same Asana user. Every integration using that account keeps working after you reconnect.
