# Form limiter

# How to Limit Form Responses?
Sometimes you only want people to submit a form during a specific time frame or until a certain limit is reached. For example, if you’re running an event, you might want to:
* Accept submissions only until the registration deadline
* Open the form on a specific start date
* Close the form after reaching a set number of responses
Formester makes this easy with its **Submission Window** feature.

### Why Limit Form Responses
Limiting responses gives you complete control over your form activity. This ensures:
* No late entries past your event deadline
* Limited participation for exclusive surveys or contests
* Stress-free event management with clear start and end times
With response limits, you avoid manual work like disabling a form or tracking submission counts yourself.

### How to Set Limits on Responses
Here’s how you can set it up inside Formester:
### Step 1: Open Your Form
From your dashboard, open the form you want to control.

### Step 2: Go to Form Settings
Click on the **Settings** icon in the top right corner, right next to the **Publish** button.

### Step 3: Head Over to Form Access
Inside settings, navigate to the **Form Access** section.

### Step 4: Toggle Submission Limit Options
You will see these controls:
**Form Open Date**
* Toggle this on and set the exact date and time when the form should open.
* Perfect for scheduled launches or event registrations.
**Form End Date**
* Toggle this on to set a closing date and time.
* Once the deadline passes, submissions will no longer be accepted.
**Submission Limit**
* Toggle this on to restrict the maximum number of submissions.
* Ideal for events with limited capacity or offers with restricted availability.

### Step 5: Save Your Settings
Once configured, your form will automatically open and close based on the rules you set.

### Example: Event Registration Deadline
Imagine you are running a webinar with 100 available seats. You can:
* Toggle **Form Open Date** for when registration should start
* Set **Form End Date** for when sign-ups should stop
* Enable **Submission Limit** at 100 to automatically block further entries
Anyone trying to submit past these conditions will see that the form is closed.

### Final Thoughts
Response limits are a simple but powerful way to manage your forms. Instead of monitoring them manually, Formester automates the process for you. Whether it’s deadlines, start dates, or participation caps, you stay fully in control.
