Location

The Location field lets respondents share their exact geographic coordinates directly in your form. Instead of addresses, the field captures latitude and longitude values. This is useful for forms that need precise location data for mapping, logistics, or service tracking.

Adding the Location Field

  1. Open your form in the Formester editor.
  2. Click Add Elements.
  3. Scroll to Others and select Location.
  4. The field will now appear on your form.

Configuring the Location Field

  1. Click the Location field to open the Properties panel.
  2. Label: Rename the field to something meaningful, like “Your Location” or “Service Location.”
  3. Required Toggle: Turn this on if every respondent must provide their location.

When filled, the field captures latitude and longitude values, such as 10.9510656, 78.4400384.

Use Cases

  • Delivery or Pickup Forms: Collect exact drop-off or pickup points.
  • Event Registration: Record attendee locations for better planning.
  • Surveys: Visualize response patterns on a map.
  • Service Requests: Track where support or field service is required.

Publishing and Testing

  1. Click Publish after configuring the field.
  2. Use Preview to test how the Location field works.
  3. Submit a test response to confirm latitude and longitude values are captured in your response data.
