# Restrict Submissions to One Per User

# Allow Only 1 Submission per User Using IP or Email

**Formester lets you limit each user to only one submission. **You can do this by checking their **IP address or their email.** This keeps your data clean, stops repeat entries, and gives you more control over who submits your form.

### How to Set It Up in Formester

### Open Your Form
Log into Formester and open the form you want to control. You can create a new form or choose any existing one from your dashboard.

### Restrict by IP
If you want to allow only one submission from each IP address, follow this path.

* Open the form builder.

* Click the settings icon on the top right.

* Go to Form Behaviour.

* Scroll down and turn on Unique IP.

This blocks users on the same device or network from submitting more than once.

If you want to limit submissions by email, you can do that inside the builder.

* Add an Email field to your form.

* Click the Email field to open the Properties panel.

* Go to the Advanced section.

* Turn on the Unique option.

Now users can submit only once with the same email address.
