# Single sign-on (SSO)

Single sign-on lets people prove who they are with a work account they already have, instead of a Formester password. One connection to a company's directory covers both uses below.

## Start here: connect a directory

Every use of SSO begins with a connection. Set one up, test it, and activate it.

One connection can do both at once.

### Protect a form

Only that company's staff can open the form, and every response records who signed in. Respondents never get a Formester account.
