Setting Up Shipping Fees in Product Catalogue

Formester lets you configure flexible shipping rules for each product in your Product Catalogue. You can charge a flat shipping fee, charge per item, or apply different shipping rates based on product variants and customer location.

Step 1: Open Product Settings

1. Open your form in the Formester builder.
2. Select the Product Catalogue element.
3. Open the Products tab.
4. Click the Edit (✏️) icon next to the product you want to configure.

Step 2: Open the Shipping Tab

Inside the Edit Product dialog, click the Shipping tab.

Here you can configure the shipping mode and create shipping rules for variants and locations.

Step 3: Choose a Shipping Fee Mode

Choose how shipping should be calculated for this product.

One Fee for All Items

Charge shipping only once for the entire order, regardless of the quantity purchased.

Example

• Shipping fee: $10
• Quantity: 5

Total shipping: $10

Fee Per Item

Charge the same shipping fee for every item purchased.

Example

• Shipping per item: $5
• Quantity: 3

Total shipping: $15

First + Additional Item

Charge one shipping fee for the first item, and a different fee for each additional item.

This is useful when the first item has a higher shipping cost, while additional items can be shipped together at a lower cost.

Example

• First item: $10
• Additional item: $3
• Quantity: 4

Shipping calculation

First item + (Additional item × (Quantity - 1))

$10 + ($3 × 3) = $19

Step 4: Configure Shipping Charges

Once you've selected a shipping mode, choose how the shipping fee should be applied.

Default Shipping

The default shipping price applies to all variants and all locations, unless overridden.

By Variant

Assign different shipping fees to each product variant.

Use this when different variants have different shipping costs.

Example

You can also use Apply to all to quickly assign the same shipping fee to every variant.

By Location

Assign different shipping fees based on the customer's selected location.

1. Select the Location field from your form.
2. Choose the countries or regions you want to configure.
3. Enter the shipping charges for each location.

Locations that are not explicitly configured will use the All other locations shipping rate.

Example

This setting applies the same shipping fee to all variants for each location.

By Location per Variant

Configure shipping based on both the selected variant and the customer's location.

This is the most flexible option and allows every variant to have different shipping rates for different destinations.

Step 5: Save Your Changes

1. Click Save Product.
2. Publish your form.

Your Product Catalogue will now automatically calculate shipping charges according to the shipping mode and rules you've configured.
