Mailchimp integration
Connect Mailchimp to your form so every submission adds or updates a contact in a Mailchimp audience automatically.
Available on: All plans. You'll need: Organization admin access, and a Mailchimp account with at least one audience already created.
Important: Only organization admins can connect or manage this integration. If you don't see the option to add it, ask an admin on your team to set it up.
Before you begin
- Your form needs a question that collects an email address. Mailchimp uses this value to identify each contact.
- Have a Mailchimp audience ready. New contacts are added to the audience you choose during setup.
Configure Mailchimp
- Open your form, go to Automate, then select Integrations.
- Find the Mailchimp card and select Add integration.
- Under Mailchimp Account, select an already-connected account, or select + Add a new account to sign in to Mailchimp and authorize Formester.
- Select the Audience that should receive contacts from this form.
- Select the Email Question — the form question whose answer becomes the contact's email address.

- Under Subscription confirmation, choose Subscribe immediately to add contacts right away, or Send a confirmation email (double opt-in) to require the contact to confirm before they're added.
- Optionally, under Audience field mapping, select Add Field to map a Mailchimp merge field (like First Name or Company) to one of your form questions.
- Optionally, under Tags, select the Mailchimp tags to apply to every contact synced from this form.
- If this is the first time you're connecting this integration, turn on Sync existing submissions to also send past submissions to Mailchimp.
- Select Save Integration.
What happens next
Once saved, the Mailchimp card shows the integration as active. From then on, every new form submission adds or updates a contact in the selected Mailchimp audience, using the subscription status you chose. You can turn the integration off, edit it, or trigger a manual Sync now at any time from the card's options menu.

Troubleshooting
- "Could not connect to Mailchimp." — Shown if the Mailchimp authorization fails or is cancelled. Try connecting the account again. [UNVERIFIED: could not trigger an OAuth failure in this walkthrough]
- "You do not have the permissions to perform this operation" — Shown if a non-admin tries to add, edit, or remove the integration. Ask an organization admin to make the change. [UNVERIFIED: no non-admin account available to trigger this]
