How to Enable Anonymous Form Submissions

Sometimes you need honest feedback without collecting personal details. Anonymous submissions make it easier for respondents to share their thoughts freely, without worrying about being identified. This is especially useful for employee feedback forms, surveys, or sensitive topics.

Steps to Enable Anonymous Submissions

Step 1: Open Your Form

Log in to your Formester account and open the form you want to edit.

Step 2: Click the Gear Icon

In the top right corner, next to the Publish button, click on the Gear Icon.

Step 3: Go to Form Settings

Select Form Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Toggle Anonymous Submissions

Find the option Anonymous Submission and toggle it on. Once enabled, the form will not store any personally identifiable information like email addresses or IP details.

Why Use Anonymous Submissions?

  • Encourage Honest Feedback: Respondents feel safe sharing genuine opinions.
  • Increase Response Rates: People are more likely to participate if their identity is hidden.
  • Perfect for Sensitive Topics: Useful for HR surveys, complaint forms, or customer experience evaluations.
  • Privacy First: Builds trust with your audience by respecting their confidentiality.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Once anonymous mode is enabled, you cannot trace responses back to individual respondents.
  • For surveys or feedback collection, this is ideal. But for contracts or applications where proof of identity is required, keep this feature off.

Final Thoughts

Anonymous submissions give your respondents the confidence to be truthful. By toggling this option, you create a safe space for open communication and ensure higher-quality insights from your forms.
