How to Set Up a Custom Subdomain for Your Form URL

Setting up a custom subdomain lets you publish forms under your own branded domain instead of Formester’s default URL. This gives you full control over branding, improves trust with respondents, and allows better tracking.

Step 1: Log In to Your Formester Account

Go to formester.com and log into your dashboard.

Step 2: Add Your Subdomain

In the dashboard, look at the bottom left corner and click Domain.

  • Enter your preferred subdomain (for example: forms.yourdomain.com).
  • Click Add Domain.
  • You will see the domain added successfully in your account.

Step 3: Configure DNS Settings

Once you add the subdomain, Formester provides a CNAME record.

  • Copy this record.
  • Go to your DNS provider (such as GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or Namecheap).
  • Paste the CNAME into your DNS settings to connect your subdomain with Formester.
  • Save and verify the connection.

Step 4: Publish a Form with Your Subdomain

Head back to your Forms list.

  • Select a form, add any fields you want, and click Publish.
  • Once published, the form URL will now include your custom subdomain.

Example: forms.yourdomain.com/your-form-slug.

Step 5: Customize the URL Slug

To make the link more user-friendly:

  • Go to Settings of your form.
  • Toggle Custom Slug on.
  • Add a unique slug, like summer-campaign or application-form.
  • Update the settings and go to the Share tab to see your new URL.

Your final link might look like this:

forms.yourdomain.com/summer-campaign

What You Can Do Next

With a custom subdomain, you can:

  • Align your forms with your brand identity.
  • Build trust with a recognizable URL.
  • Create clean, professional links for campaigns.
  • Track responses more effectively under your own domain.

Final Thoughts

Adding a custom subdomain is a simple but powerful way to brand your Formester forms. By setting it up once, you make every future form look more professional and credible. Share the custom link with your audience and enjoy full control over your form’s appearance and tracking.
