How to Use Email Verification in Your Forms

Collecting valid and real email addresses is crucial for any online form or survey. Fake or invalid submissions can cause spam, communication issues, and extra work cleaning up entries. Using email verification ensures that every email submitted is authentic and functional.

Why Use Email Verification

Email verification helps you:

  • Prevent fake or invalid submissions
  • Reduce spam and unwanted entries
  • Ensure the right customer receives order updates, event notifications, or application responses
  • Save time by avoiding manual cleanup of incorrect entries

For example, in event registration forms, email verification ensures that only real participants are registered. In order forms, it guarantees that order confirmations and updates reach the correct email.

Step 1: Create Your Form

  1. Log in to your form builder and create a new form.
  2. Add the necessary fields, such as name, email, phone, or any other relevant information.
  3. Make sure your email field is included to enable verification.

Step 2: Enable Email Verification

  1. Click on the email field in your form.
  2. Open Advanced Properties.
  3. Toggle on Email Confirmation. This will send an OTP (one-time password) to the user’s email to verify it.
  4. Customize the confirmation title, description, and other settings.

Users will see a prompt to enter the OTP, with options to resend or change the email if needed.

Step 3: Prevent Duplicate Entries (Optional)

  • You can enable the Unique Submission option to allow only one submission per email address.
  • This is especially useful for event registrations or exclusive promotions where multiple entries from the same user are not allowed.

Step 4: Test Your Form

  1. Publish your form and submit a test entry.
  2. Check the email account for the OTP.
  3. Enter the OTP in the form to verify the email.
  4. Confirm that the submission appears in your form builder dashboard.

Step 5: Add Extra Spam Protection (Optional)

  • Enable AI Spam Protection in your form builder settings.
  • This feature uses an AI model to automatically detect and block spam submissions, adding another layer of security.

Benefits of Using Email Verification

  • Ensures that all form responses come from real users
  • Reduces invalid or fake submissions
  • Improves communication efficiency with accurate emails
  • Saves time and effort in managing form responses

Final Thoughts

Email verification is an essential feature for any online form, from contact forms to surveys, order forms, and event registrations. By enabling this feature, you can maintain a clean database of valid emails, improve engagement, and prevent spam or fraudulent submissions.
