Navigation buttons
How to Enable or Disable Navigation Buttons in Your Form
Navigation buttons guide respondents through your form by letting them move forward or backward between pages. Depending on your form design, you may want to show or hide these buttons. For example, quizzes often hide the back button to prevent changes, while surveys may keep it for flexibility.
Steps to Enable or Disable Navigation Buttons
Step 1: Open Your Form
Log in to your Formester account and open the form you want to edit.
Step 2: Click the Gear Icon
In the top right corner of the builder, click the Gear Icon next to the Publish button.
Step 3: Go to Form Behaviour
From the menu, select Form Behaviour.
Step 4: Toggle Navigation Buttons
Find the option Show Navigation Buttons and toggle it on or off based on your needs.
- On: Navigation buttons (Next, Back) will appear on your form.
- Off: Respondents will not see navigation buttons.
Why Control Navigation Buttons?
- Quizzes and Tests: Disable back navigation to ensure fairness.
- Surveys: Keep both buttons to allow flexibility in changing answers.
- Lead Forms: Hide navigation buttons for a faster, focused flow.
Pro Tip
You can combine this with automatic page navigation for a completely hands-off experience where respondents don’t need to click Next at all.
