How to Create Multi Language Form Translations
Want to reach a global audience with your forms and surveys? With multi language translation, you can instantly translate forms into different languages using AI or add manual translations. This saves time and helps you connect with respondents in their preferred language.
Step 1: Create Your Form
Log into your Formester account and click New Form. You can:
- Start from scratch
- Use the AI Form Generator
- Pick from free templates
For this example, let’s use a Restaurant Feedback Form.
Step 2: Enable Multi Language
Inside the form builder:
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Under Form Control, toggle on Multi Language.
- Click Add Translation and choose the language you want, for example, Spanish.
At this stage, the language is added, but the form isn’t translated yet.
Step 3: Translate Your Form
You have two options:
- Manual Translation: Click the edit icon next to a language and enter translations for each field, welcome page, and thank-you page.
- AI Auto Translation: Use the built-in AI option to translate the entire form instantly.
Once complete, review and save your translations.
Step 4: Add Multiple Languages
You can add more than one language, such as Portuguese or French. Use the three-dot menu to set any language as the primary language. By default, English is primary, but you can switch it to another language at any time.
Step 5: Publish and Test
Click Publish to make your form live. Open the form, and you’ll see a language selector at the top right. Choose a language, and the entire form will display in that language.
Submit a test response to confirm the translations. Submissions automatically appear in your dashboard, and Formester can display them in your default language (English) for easier analysis.
